5-Star Ranking on Amazon.com!

I love, love, loved reading this book! I found it to be a collection of creative, nonfiction stories about the author's family and life experiences with a sprinkling of History and personal encounters with many famous people including the young Community Organizer Barack Obama while living in Chicago, Illinois. These experiences and encounters led the author to the conclusion that there are no coincidences in life. He believes, as do I, that everything a person experiences is interrelated and predetermined for us by God. My favorite stories revolve around the author's visits and conversations with his 102 year old Aunt Mary. Her wisdom and encouragement will greatly inspire all readers of this book. If you enjoy sports you will not be disappointed as Reality's Pen includes some incredible stories that will delight and inform all sport's enthusiasts. I was both uplifted and inspired as I read these remarkable stories and often found myself relating them to my own life experiences. You too will enjoy reading this book, and will want to share it with your family and friends.

This book written by Thomas Rush has so many stories that evoke memories of the 1950's - 1980's that my emotions began to run all over the place.I remembered being a parent and a teacher at that time and I was trying so hard to instill values into my own children as well as my students, There are many more stories in the book that you will love to read but just let me say that the love that his mother instilled in him for reading is dear to my heart as a parent and as a librarian. The author has the unique ability to actually bring you into his stories. They are so descriptive and down to earth that I feel as if I am a participant in many of the stories. I felt like I was actually there. I feel confident that as you read this book you too will find yourself an active participant.

"My reality creates my anecdotes and I am simply the tool used to convert them into words on paper. I am the metaphor. I am the pen that my reality uses to write my experiences. I am my Reality's Pen."

- Thomas D. Rush
